The sheriff in Manitowoc County says a deputy is recovering after a drunk man in a Corvette smashed into his squad car early yesterday morning. It happened along I-43 near Highway 310 about 2:30 yesterday morning. The sheriff says the deputy was parked in the median, but the Corvette left the interstate and smashed into the back of his SUV. It’s time to get to work on the Christmas Village in Irvine Park. The city’s parks department is looking for volunteers to help string the 60 thousand lights that go into the Christmas Village. Opening night is a little more than one month away. The Parks Department’s Missy Prieve says anyone can volunteer, from kids up to grandparents. You’re soon going to have to dial more numbers to connect a call in Wisconsin. Ten-digit dialing begins in two weeks in the state. The change won’t mean too much for people who primarily use cell phones, but anyone using a landline will need to start to add the area code to all calls. Former Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Mike Gableman said over the weekend there’s evidence that election managers didn’t follow the state’s election laws last fall. Gableman is continuing his investigation into what happened on Election Day last year. He said in a new video that there’s evidence that ‘ambiguities’ in the law were ‘expansively interpreted’ so much that voters have lost trust in the election process. Wisconsin is starting the week with about 11 hundred people in the hospital with the coronavirus. The state’s Hospital Association says the number of people in the hospital with the virus is holding steady. Of the just over 11 hundred people hospitalized with the virus, the Hospital Association says about 300 people are in the ICU. The Hospital Association isn’t saying how many of those people are hospitalized because of the virus.

It’s the clearest sign yet that Wisconsin’s next political map is headed for court. Governor Tony Evers said on UPFRONT over the weekend that he will veto any map from Republicans lawmakers that is gerrymandered. The governor isn’t saying what his threshold for gerrymandering is, but is promising a veto nonetheless. The governor said he thinks Wisconsin can get fair maps if the court draws them. More people are sick with the measles at Fort McCoy than first thought. Commanders at Fort McCoy now say there are 22 confirmed cases of the measles. Last week, the measles count was just nine. Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services says the risk of the measles spreading to nearby communities is low. Commanders say the measles cases have hit people from four-years-old to 26-years-old, nearly two-thirds of those who are sick were hospitalized. DHS says it provided nearly 11 thousand measles

It’s not the turkey hunting or dog training legislation that is going to doom Wisconsin’s new sporting freedom package, it’s the constitutional carry plan. Police in St. Paul, Minnesota say three suspects are in custody after a bar shooting left one person dead and more than a dozen others wounded.  The mass shooting happened just after midnight at the Seventh Street Truck Park, a bar and eatery near the Xcel Energy Center where the Minnesota Wild play hockey.  The three men believed to be involved in the shooting are being treated at the hospital before being booked into jail.  Investigators have not yet released
