The classic drive-in restaurant Rudy’s has opened for the season. The popular drive in, that is located on La Crosse Street, is typically open from March to October. The hours of operation are from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. daily. They will only be closed for two days this season. Easter Sunday and Fourth of July they will be closed.

The Milwaukee Brewers will have a new way for fans to enter the stadium during the 2025 season. Fans that want to participate in the new ticketing system, called go ahead entry, will have to download the MLB app and register themselves along with a screen shot of your face. Wisconsin’s State Building Commission is meeting today to vote on the governor’s capital budget proposal. Governor Tony Evers says his 2025-2027 budget would invest more than four-billion dollars for major construction projects, produce more than seven-billion in economic activity, and support about 41-thousand jobs in Wisconsin. Opponents of the bill say it includes irresponsible spending. Evers is asking for bipartisan support.

Eau Claire County is scoring above average in a statewide annual health rankings report.  Data from UW-Health shows Eau Claire County ranking above average in flu vaccinations, mental health providers, and mammogram screenings.  The county scored very well with the number of doctors available, though the data was gathered before the closure of St. Joe’s and Sacred Heart hospitals last year.  

Mega Millions jackpots will grow faster in Wisconsin starting next month. The Wisconsin Lottery says the starting jackpot is increasing to 50-million dollars, and non-jackpot wins can now be as high as ten-million. Other upgrades include automatic multipliers, randomly assigned at the time of purchase. Changes will be effective starting April 5th.

The U.S. Postal Service will commemorate the warmth, wit and charisma of Betty White by honoring the late actress and comedienne with a new stamp bearing her likeness. Menomonie Police is investigating an armed robbery at a gas station over the weekend.  Authorities say someone entered Bob and Steve’s BP Amoco Saturday night and told the store clerk he had a handgun as he went behind the counter.  The suspect then removed cash from a register and fled the scene on foot.  No arrests have been made. The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire is naming Kara Metzger the new director of athletic bands at the university.  Metzger is an alumna and former member of the Blugold Marching Band.  She most recently served as director of bands at Central Methodist University in Fayette, Missouri.  Metzger is replacing Randy Dickerson, who will step down July 1st.
