Teen Behind Fatal Hit and Run Appears in Court

A Western Wisconsin teen is accused of a fatal hit and run while driving drunk.  Prosecutors say 17-year-old Addison Bowell hit and killed Ann Seidl while she was on a run in Dunn County Saturday morning.  The suspect’s mother found the deceased woman and called 9-1-1.  She told investigators her daughter refuses to stop smoking weed or drinking.  Investigators allege the suspect admitted to drinking before driving, didn’t know what she hit, and didn’t care.  The teen’s court date is

Marshfield Voters Approve Public Safety Referendum

On the other side of Election Day, Marshfield responders released this statement on the passing of a Public Safety Referendum: The Marshfield Fire & Rescue Department is pleased to announce that the community  has voted in favor of the referendum to restore firefighter/paramedic staffing to 2021 levels. La Crosse Fire Under Investigation

Fire officials are investigating how a fire started at the La Crosse State Street post office.  The fire took place yesterday afternoon. Fire officials said the fire was located outside and was a small fire not connected with the building. No injuries were reported, and the fire did not interfere with the post office operations.

Crews on Scene of Westby Fire

Fire crews are investigating a house fire that took place in Westby.  The fire took place yesterday on the 300 block of West State Street. When crews arrived, flames were seen coming out of the side of the house and extended onto the second floor.  No injuries were reported, however the red-cross is assisting the family. Crews were on the scene for over three hours as they are still figuring out how the fire started.

Jackson Co. Authorities Seek Tips

Police are asking for the public’s help with thefts and burglaries that took place in Jackson County.  Police officials said a theft took place at the Melrose Laundromat between March 13th and 14th and a burglary took place at a building on Hogg Street on March 27th.  Officials ask if you know anything to contact the Jackson County Crime Stoppers. If your tip leads to an arrest, you could receive a thousand-dollar reward.

Arrest Made From Most Wanted List

A man who was on Wisconsin’s Most Wanted list for sex trafficking is under arrest.  U.S. Marshals say a Waukesha County deputy arrested William Mingorance in Brookfield.  He was also wanted for a probation violation, but investigators are connecting him to the sex trafficking case of a 15-year-old girl.  Mingorance is also accused of exposing the girl to drugs, and has connections to both Florida and Milwaukee.

Student Injured in WI School Shooting Returns to Critical Care

A student injured in the Abundant Life Christian School shooting is back in critical condition.  The victim was shot when a 15-year-old student opened fire at the Madison school last December.  They’ve been hospitalized ever since.  A teacher and one student died, with six other people left injured.
