There will soon be more free N96 masks in Madison and Dane County. County Executive Joe Parisi yesterday said the county has 100 thousand masks to hand-out. The county’s mark giveaway comes as the Boys and Girls Club finished handing out its free N95 masks earlier this week. Public Health Madison & Dane County will handle the giveaway.

Read MoreThe search for a homicide suspect from Milwaukee has ended in Iowa. Police in Waterloo, Iowa arrested 47-year-old Simone Hughes yesterday morning. He’s wanted for executing his girlfriend and shooting his 14-year-old daughter in the head earlier this month. Waterloo Police say Hughs tried to barricade himself in his car before his arrest. Hughes is looking at homicide charges in Milwaukee. There’s no word when he will be back in town to face those charges.

Assembly Speaker Robin Vos yesterday announced the creation of a new Special Assembly Committee on Trade and Supply Chain. Vos says he wants to support businesses and families in the state by getting answers about low supply and high prices. The committee will also look at how Wisconsin’s worker shortage is affecting the supply chain in the state.

The Wisconsin Legislature has been unable to come to an agreement with Governor Tony Evers on the new maps, so the responsibility has been handed over to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court is considering map proposals from several people and groups, including Evers and Republicans and Democrats in the Legislature. Once the Supreme Court decides it will be the first times it’s drawn Wisconsin’s political maps since the 1960’s.
