Folks in Eau Claire will be able to catch-up on some reading while waiting for their socks to dry. The L.E. Phillips Library this week announced plans for what are being called laundromat libraries. The idea is to bring books, particularly for kids, to where people are. The Library’s Jerissa Koenig says the hope is that families will read together. The Pinehurst Laundromat on North Hastings is one of the first laundromats to join the new partnership.

The town says it will cost about two-thousand dollars to replace them. The town is asking anyone who sees any of the stolen signs to reach out.

Preliminary evidence indicates a pickup truck was traveling westbound on US 2 when the driver lost control. The pickup crossed the centerline, then struck an eastbound semi-tractor trailer.
