Baseball is back, and that means spring training for the Brewers. Tickets for the games in Arizona go on sale today. The Brewers say prices will vary based on seats and teams. The Brewer’s first spring training game is next Sunday against the Padres in Phoenix. The regular season is set to begin on April 7th. The Brewers will take-on the Cubs in Chicago on that day. Rittenhouse Rifle Destroyed

The rifle that Kyle Rittenhouse used during Kenosha’s night of violence is nothing more than broken pieces. Crews at the Wisconsin State Crime Lab confirmed over the weekend that they have destroyed the rifle. Rittenhouse shot and killed two men during Kenosha’s riots in the summer of 2020, he wounded a third. A jury cleared Rittenhouse of homicide charges back in November. Rittenhouse wanted the rifle destroyed, he said, to prevent it from being sold.

Shots Fired Lead to Arrest of EC Man

Eau Claire Police say a young man is in custody for firing a couple of shots over the weekend. Arrest records say 19-year-old Aaron Jones fired his rifle several times Saturday morning. No one was hurt, but police say Jones fired some rounds into his neighbor’s homes. Prosecutors could file formal charges against Jones in the next few days. Politicos Say Kleefisch Seeks Trump Endorsement

There are reports that one of the Republicans running for governor in Wisconsin met with former President Trump in Florida last week.  Wisconsin’s Democratic Party on Friday reacted to reports that Rebecca Kleefisch met with the former president on Mar-A-Lago. The party criticized the meeting. Kleefisch’s campaign isn’t confirming the meeting, or what may have been said. Election Spending Static Continues at State Level

If the state of Wisconsin would have spent more money on local elections, one Eau Claire lawmaker says the state’s five largest Democratic cities wouldn’t have had to turn to Mark Zuckerberg for money during the 2020 election. State Rep. Jodi Emerson from Eau Claire on Capital City Sunday defended Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay, Racine, and Kenosha for taking nearly nine million-dollars in grant money during the last presidential election. Wisconsin’s special election investigator says that money was essentially a bribe. Gas Prices High, But Holding Steady

Gas prices in Wisconsin are high, but holding steady. Triple-A says the average price for a gallon of regular gas in the state is four-dollars and two-cents. That’s where it’s been for the past few days. One week ago, the average price per-gallon was $3.82. One year ago, Triple-A says, the average price per-gallon was $2.70.

La Crosse Looks to Solutions for Homeless Populations

Social service agencies in La Crosse aren’t all on-board with the city’s plan to find new homes for the homeless. The Salvation Army last week sent a letter to city hall, saying the plans to keep the homeless in the local Econo Lodge until the end of April doesn’t solve the city’s homeless problem. Grannies Dance Again

Some of the loudest applause at Milwaukee’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade were for the Dancing Grannies. The grannies returned to dance in a parade for the first time since last November’s attack at the Waukesha Christmas Parade. Four Dancing Grannies were killed in that attack. On Saturday, crowds lined-up to cheer the grannies who marched through downtown Milwaukee. The grannies, of course, wore buttons to remember their fallen friends.

Reports of a man firing a rifle in Eau Claire lead to an arrest and the discovery of a weapon taken in a recent burglary. On March 12, 2022, just after 10:00am, Eau Claire Police and the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 2600 block of Boardwalk Circle for a report of a man walking around the neighborhood shooting a rifle.  An extensive search occurred. You’ll Pay More to See The Pack Play

The cost is going up for a ticket to see the Packers play in Green Bay.   The Packers organization announced Friday an increase of four to seven dollars in the cost of a regular season ticket at Lambeau Field.  Club  President and CEO Mark Murphy says even with the price hike, tickets are still below league average.
