Deadly Shooting in Kenosha

One person is dead and four injured after a shooting last night in Kenosha, Wisconsin.  Police say they responded to a report of a shooting around 10:20 p.m. to find a chaotic scene.  All of the victims are adults.  Two of the survivors were taken to local hospitals while the other two were taken to Milwaukee-area hospitals with serious injuries.  Police don’t yet have a suspect or a known motive.

Suspect In Custody After Deadly Hit and Run

Police in Altoona have a suspect in custody in a deadly weekend hit-and-run. It happened Sunday morning along Highway 12. Police say the victim was walking along the road just before 6 a.m. when an SUV hit them, then sped off. Altoona Police say they had their suspect in custody by Sunday afternoon. There’s no word when formal charges could be filed.

Dunn Co. Remains Found in Creek

Authorities are investigating a possible human bone found in Dunn County. The sheriff’s office says someone found the bone in a creek just outside of Menomonie yesterday. Deputies say the bone appears to be very old. Authorities have sent the bone to St. Paul, Minnesota to see if it is indeed human.

Milwaukee Violence Continues

Milwaukee is ending the long holiday weekend with 19 shootings. Police in the city say 19 people were shot, two of them died, between Friday morning and late last night. Two three-year-olds were wounded in what police are calling accidental shootings, one of those toddlers died. There were also two double shootings in Milwaukee yesterday. The city is on pace for another record year for both shootings and homicides.

WI Band Near Highland Park During Deadly Shooting

The members of Scorched Waves are okay after spending their Fourth of July in Highland Park, Illinois. The band from Stevens Point was in town to compete in a battle of the bands at the town’s high school football field, a few miles from Highland Park’s parade shooting. Lead guitarist Tyler Armstrong says they heard about the shooting while they were doing pre-concert sound checks. They then hid under the stadium’s bleachers. Everyone is okay now back in Wisconsin.

Deadly Crash Investigation Shows Accidental Loss of Control

Police in Menomonee Falls say a crash that killed a man and seriously injured his sister looks to be an accident. It happened in a parking lot just after the Falls’ fireworks show Sunday night. Officers say an 18-year-old driver lost control of her car and hit the man and woman. Investigators say it doesn’t look like drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

WI Coronavirus Hospitalizations Hold Steady

Wisconsin’s coronavirus hospitalization numbers are holding steady. The state’s Hospital Association yesterday said 383 people are in the hospital with the virus, including 55 in the ICU. That’s pretty much where Wisconsin has been for the past two months. The numbers are also in-line with what the state saw last summer.

Hundreds Marched in Madison

A couple of hundred people spent their Fourth of July at the Wisconsin Capitol, demanding that someone do something about abortion in the state. The group said yesterday was not a time to celebrate. The protesters are upset with the Supreme Court decision that allows states to set their own abortion laws. In Wisconsin, that means that abortion is illegal.

Building Damaged By Fireworks

 A firework is being blamed for damage to a Kaukauna building.  Firefighters say a rubber roof caught fire last night after a rocket landed on it.  They estimate around 20-thousand dollars in damage was done to the structure.  No injuries were reported.

Crowd Of Spectators Injured in WI Crash

Two people are injured after being struck by a car following a fireworks show in Wisconsin.  That’s Captain Gene Neyhart with the Menomonee Falls Police Deptartment.  Police  were called to the scene after getting calls of multiple people in a parking lot being hit by a vehicle Sunday night.  The victims’ injuries are reported to be serious.  The driver is said to have stayed on-scene and the accident is under investigation.
