Arrest Made in Connection To Green Bay Murder; Search For Second Suspect Continues

One of two men wanted for a murder in Green Bay is arrested in Texas.  Gustavo Cantu was taken into custody during a traffic stop in Kerr, Texas on Saturday.  He was wanted along with Alejandro Cantu for a drug-related killing in Green Bay in April.  Alejandro Cantu is Native American, six-feet tall and 165 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.  He has several tattoos including one with his last name “Cantu” on his left forearm.

Multi-Car Crash Leads to 7th OWI

A suspect in a Madison hit-and-run is busted after denying any involvement in the crash and then being caught with the car keys in his pocket.  Police have not yet named the man who took off from the scene at Washington Avenue and Park last night but he was caught when one of the other drivers in the crash followed him until cops caught up.  No one was injured in the three-car crash but the suspect was arrested for his

Arrest Made in Grand Chute Overdoses

One person is in custody in connection to two overdose deaths in Grand Chute.  Police found two victims dead in a hotel parking lot over the weekend.  One person was lying on the ground at the Rodeway Inn and the other was found in their car.  The suspect is accused of giving the victims the narcotics that claimed their lives.

Bobcat Roams Through WI Yard

An uninvited guest prowled the yard as if it was his own before ambling on through a Cross Plains neighborhood.  One family snapped a picture of a bobcat roaming through their yard on Saturday.  The Department of Natural Resources says bobcats are the most common of the big cats to be spotted in Wisconsin.  The DNR says sightings of bobcats are rare but there have been more sightings recently in central and southern Wisconsin.

No one was hurt, but a house on Shellamie Drive is considered a total loss after a fire yesterday evening. Firefighters say the fire started in the garage and quickly spread. No one is saying exactly what caused that fire to start.

Robert Francis Brodersen, 83 years of age, from Spring Valley has been arrested by the WisconsinState Patrol Eau Claire Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 1st offense. WI Coronavirus Activity Holds Steady

The Chippewa Valley is starting the week with medium coronavirus activity. The CDC updated its coronavirus numbers last Thursday, and said Eau Claire and Chippewa counties have dropped out of high coronavirus levels. Many other western and northern Wisconsin counties, however, continue to see high levels. That includes Barron County and Rusk county. Licensing Delays Causing Frustration

People in Wisconsin continue to wait to get their permission slip from the state to get to work. State Rep. Shae Sortwell, a Republican from Two Rivers, on Friday blasted Governor Evers for the delays and backlogs at the state’s licensing agency. Sortwell says the state blacked-out two weeks in April and May to update its computer system to more easily be able to handle licensing requests, but he says things haven’t improved since then. Menomonie Mullet is Tops

Emmitt Bailey has the best mullet in the land. The eight-year-old from Menomonie won the children’s division in the US Mullet Championships over the weekend. Bailey rocks a blonde mullet that curls as it gets longer. He beat out 24 other kids, including another boy from Wisconsin. A second Wisconsinite, Kayden Kershaw from Wausau, won the teen’s division.
