Marshfield Addresses Water Contamination Concerns

House Fire in La Crosse

Firefighters in La Crosse were on the scene of a house fire and say family pets were lost in the blaze. Three cats didn’t make it out of a house fire yesterday. The fire happened at a home just south of the city’s downtown. No people were hurt. A total of seven fire trucks and 18 firefighters fought the fire. There’s no word on a cause just yet.

Tornado’s Confirmed Near Beloit

It was an EF-0 tornado that touched down near Beloit on Tuesday. The National Weather Service yesterday confirmed that a small tornado touched down about six miles northwest of the city. There were no injuries, and just a few reports of damage. Forecasters say the tornado had top wind speeds of about 75 miles-per-hour, traveled three-and-a-half miles, and was on the ground for about ten minutes.

Some of Eau Claire’s Democratic lawmakers are worried about what the Wisconsin Supreme Court may say about ballot drop boxes. State Rep. Grain Dryer Fire Causes Over $800K in Damages

A fire in a grain dryer in southern Wisconsin does hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage.  The fire broke out in Evansville just after 5:15 Wednesday afternoon.  The Evansville Fire Department says 16 agencies had to be called in to fight the fire because of its size.  The fire department says the fire did 800-thousand dollars worth of damage to the dryer and 50-thousand dollars worth of damage to the contents of the dryer.
