This is not the morning to go to Lake Michigan. The National Weather Service is warning about life threatening waves and dangerous rip currents. Forecasters say waves could be as high as four feet. There are warnings for beaches from Kenosha up to Sheboygan. The Weather Service says people need to stay away from the beach, as well as dangerous areas like piers and breakwalls.

Sheriff Jeff Skatrud yesterday said he is sending the women who used to be housed at his jail to the jail in Iowa County, or sending them home on electronic monitoring. The sheriff says it could be a year or more before he can hire and train enough guards to be able to once again keep women in his jail.
