There’s now a case of the monkeypox in Dunn County. Public health managers confirmed the case yesterday. It is the county’s first case. No one is saying who has the virus, or how they got it. The CDC yesterday said there are 43 monkeypox cases in the state.

Chippewa Falls Looks To Add Badges

They are looking to hire at Chippewa Falls’ police department. The city yesterday said there is an opening to hire another officer. There are currently 20 cops in Chippewa Falls. Police Chief Matt Kelm says back in 2012 they saw nearly 100 applications for their one open position. That was down to five the last time Chippewa Falls went looking for a new officer. La Crosse’s proposed ban on conversion therapy may end with a lawsuit. The Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty yesterday sent a letter to La Crosse’s city council promising a suit if the ordinance is not repealed. UW-Eau Claire is the latest UW campus to see food robots this fall. The school yesterday said robot delivery vehicles will bring students and faculty members meals this year. Fifteen of the so-called Kiwibots will be joining the UW-Eau Claire campus. They will deliver food from the campus dining halls to anywhere on campus. UW-Madison has been using food delivery bots for a while, and they are said to be very popular with students.

Primary Election Results Set to Be Certified Today

Wisconsin’s August election will become official later today. The state’s Elections Commission is set to certify the canvass from the August 9th Primary. The votes have all been counted, and in some cases recounted. Election managers expect the final vote count to show a record turnout for a primary election.

New Sex-Ed Curriculum Approved

Wauwatosa Schools are moving ahead with a new sex-ed curriculum for kids. The city’s school board last night approved changes that will teach kids starting in kindergarten about sex, sexual orientations, and gender. Superintendent Demond Means last night said the new lessons are needed as 13 percent of students in Tosa schools now identify themselves with ‘different sexual orientations.’ Some parents aren’t happy with the new lessons, which they say are too graphic and too much for younger students.

More Rescued Beagles Look For WI Homes

If you are looking for a new four legged family member, more beagles are coming to Milwaukee. The Wisconsin Humane Society yesterday said it is going to get another load of beagles who were rescued from Virginia. These dogs are adult dogs, and the Humane Society is looking for people to foster the dogs when they arrive. Milwaukee already got 62 beagles in the last round of rescues.

Arrest Made in Connection To Green Bay Murder; Search For Second Suspect Continues

One of two men wanted for a murder in Green Bay is arrested in Texas.  Gustavo Cantu was taken into custody during a traffic stop in Kerr, Texas on Saturday.  He was wanted along with Alejandro Cantu for a drug-related killing in Green Bay in April.  Alejandro Cantu is Native American, six-feet tall and 165 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.  He has several tattoos including one with his last name “Cantu” on his left forearm.

Multi-Car Crash Leads to 7th OWI

A suspect in a Madison hit-and-run is busted after denying any involvement in the crash and then being caught with the car keys in his pocket.  Police have not yet named the man who took off from the scene at Washington Avenue and Park last night but he was caught when one of the other drivers in the crash followed him until cops caught up.  No one was injured in the three-car crash but the suspect was arrested for his

Arrest Made in Grand Chute Overdoses

One person is in custody in connection to two overdose deaths in Grand Chute.  Police found two victims dead in a hotel parking lot over the weekend.  One person was lying on the ground at the Rodeway Inn and the other was found in their car.  The suspect is accused of giving the victims the narcotics that claimed their lives.
