Read MoreA conservative public interest law firm is suing the Wisconsin Election Commission over alleged “mishandling” of military absentee ballots. The Thomas More Society filed suit on Friday in Waukesha County Circuit Court. The group wants the court to issue a temporary restraining order and temporary injunction, ordering election officials to set aside all military absentee or mail-in ballots prior to Tuesday’s election. Read MoreStrains of bird flu have turned up in backyard flocks in Marathon and Waukesha counties. The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture Trade and Consumer Protection says birds with avian influenza were found in both counties. The department has depopulated the birds in both locations to keep the disease from spreading. Bird flu has been confirmed in 18 Wisconsin counties so far this year in domestic birds. Poultry owners are asked to keep their birds indoors, if possible.

Read MoreOne Dane County’s more infamous murder cases will be on national television this weekend. CBS’ 48 Hours will run an episode on the Halderson murders. Chandler Halderson was convicted early this year for the 2021 murders of his parents. Pieces of their bodies were found at the family’s cabin. He’s now serving a life sentence. The 48 Hours episode features interviews with people involved in the case, including a local TV reporter. You can watch the Halderson episode tomorrow night.
Read MoreIt was a thank you dance for the Dancing Grannies. Milwaukee’s group of grandmas performed for the doctors and nurses at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center yesterday. That was the hospital that treated members of the Dancing Grannies after they were hurt in last year’s attack at the Waukesha Christmas Parade. One of the grannies, Betty Streng, was seriously hurt. She says the team at St. Luke’s saved her life.

The medical examiner in La Crosse yesterday said 25-year-old Hamud Faal had a very high level of alcohol in his system when he drowned in the Mississippi River back in February. Fall, who graduated from Sun Prairie High School, was missing until firefighters found his body in the Mississippi River in March.
