APOLOGIZES COME AFTER PRIVACY BREACH

Prison managers in Madison are apologizing after releasing some potentially sensitive inmate information.

The Wisconsin Department of Corrections on Friday admitted that they released information as part of a freedom of information request back in June that could allow people to see which inmates are receiving drug treatment.  That’s supposed to be protected health information.  DOC says the information was later deleted.

Prison managers are sending letters to about 14-hundred inmates who may have had their privacy violated.
