BOOK FEST WRITES NEW CHAPTER THIS FALL

In its 20th year, the Chippewa Valley Book Festival is opening up another chapter this fall.

This year’s festival will be held October 21–October 27, 2019. The majority of events are open to the public and are FREE. This year’s festival will feature eighteen authors and more than twenty events.

Here are some of the people behind the pen that you can expect to see:

  • Rebecca Makkai – 2019 Pulitzer Prize Finalist, Andrew Carnegie Medal in Fiction, Los Angeles Times Book Prize, Stonewall Book Award, New York Times Ten Best Books of 2018, National Book Award Finalist. Featured at the Festival: The Great Believers
  • Art Cullen – 2017 Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Writing. Featured at the Festival: Storm Lake
  • B.J. Hollars – Truman Capote Prize for Literary Nonfiction, the Anne B. and James B. McMillan Prize, the Council of Wisconsin Writers’ Blei-Derleth Award, and the Society of Midland Authors Award. Featured at the Festival: Midwestern Strange
  • Beth Dooley – James Beard Book Award for Best American Cookbook. Featured at the Festival: In Winter’s Kitchen
  • Anna Lee Huber – 2018 Daphne du Maurier Award for Excellence in Mystery/Suspense. Featured at the Festival: Treacherous is the Night
  • Loretta Ellsworth – Midwest Booksellers Choice Honor Award in Children’s Literature and New York Public Library’s Best Books for Teens. Featured at the Festival: Stars Over Clear Lake
  • John Hildebrand – Council of Writers’ Blei-Derleth Award, Minnesota Book Award/Science & Nature Writing. Featured at the Festival: Long Way Round (book release at our festival event)
