Hundreds of west-central Wisconsin National Guard troops are headed to Afghanistan after a heroes send-off in Menomonie.
Residents lined the streets as buses filled with about 400 soldiers in the Red Arrow Brigade based in Eau Claire paraded down the street last night. They’re expected to be overseas for about a year providing security to coalition forces.
