LOCAL LEADERS CONTINUE DOWN ROAD TO TRANSPORTATION FUNDING

Local leaders met to tackle the long road to transportation funding.

WCHA Executive Director Daniel Fedderly participated in a press conference regarding the one-time supplemental transportation funding today alongside Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Secretary Craig Thompson.

The event, held in the Governor’s Conference Room, also included Mike Koles from the Wisconsin Towns Association and Curt Witynski from the League of Wisconsin Municipalities.

In other transportation news, the top Republican in the Wisconsin Senate wants to undo Governor Tony Evers’ order that could send millions of dollars to The Hop.  Scott Fitzgerald yesterday said he’s thinking about calling lawmakers back to Madison to override the governor.  Fitzgerald is not happy how the Evers administration plans to spend 75 million-dollars in transportation funding.  Some of that money could go to Milwaukee’s streetcar.  Fitzgerald has never been a fan of the project.
