The City of Clearwater is also known as the Kubb Capital of North America. This weekend we live up to that moniker. It’s time for Kubb! the 13th annual U.S. National Kubb Championship is July 12th. You can plan on seeing 128 teams, with more than 450 players hailing from 18 states, Washington D.C., and Sweden.
They will be vying for honors in the game described as a combination of bowling, horseshoes and chess, with the term “Viking chess” often applied to it. For those who’ve never heard of kubb, CLICK HERE FOR FUN AND EXCITING KUBB NEWS AND RULES!
The weekend is free to spectators, with all the throwing of wooden sticks at wooden blocks happening at the Eau Claire Soccer Park at the corner or Hamilton Ave. and Craig Road.
