CHARGES EXPECTED TODAY IN DEADLY ST. CROIX CO. CRASH

The man being blamed for a deadly crash in St. Croix County shouldn’t have been driving.

The St. Croix County Sheriff’s office yesterday said 37-year-old Brandon Lieffring was under the influence of something and driving on a suspended license when he sped away from a deputy on Saturday and crashed into a motorcycle.

The motorcycle’s rider, 39-year-old Dustin Kalland from Minnesota, died in the crash.  The sheriff says prosecutors could file formal charges against Lieffring today or tomorrow.
