NO IF’S, AND’S, ….OR BUTTS

Smoking is now banned in public housing.

A nationwide ban went into effect Tuesday that prohibits smoking in or near public housing facilities.  The rule was passed two years ago by the Obama administration and prohibits the use of cigarettes, cigars and pipes in all public housing units, common areas and outdoor areas within 25 feet.  The rule does not apply to e-cigarettes, snuff and chewing tobacco.

Tenants could face eviction after several smoking violations.  The ban is expected to save the government over 150-million dollars a year in repairs, health care costs and fires.
