Democratic legislators are rolling out their plan to protect communities from chemical contamination.
Chemicals called PFAS’s are found in household products as well as in firefighting foams. The contaminant was discovered in drinking water in the town of Peshtigo near a facility that manufactures firefighter foam.
Governor Tony Evers was in Green Bay today to introduce the CLEAR Act. It would have the DNR establish acceptable levels, standards and monitoring requirements to deal with the toxic chemicals.
