Money for mental health is getting a gold star heading in to the new school year.
Several local schools are hoping a grant will help address the issue of student mental health. State officials announced more than three million dollars were awarded to 64 districts around the state as part of a mental health grant.
Near us, the Onalaska School District received nearly 60-thousand dollars and says it will use the grant on intervention with students who have mental health issues, professional development for staff, and partnering with local mental health providers.
