Workplace safety is constantly evolving, and employers need more than compliance checklists to keep their teams safe. Chippewa Valley Technical College’s Safety Day will bring safety professionals, supervisors and other workplace leaders together for a day of practical training, expert insight and hands-on learning.
Safety Day is set for 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at CVTC’s Manufacturing & Engineering Campus, 2320 Alpine Road, Eau Claire. The event is designed for safety managers, human resources professionals, maintenance teams, front-line supervisors and others responsible for workplace safety.
“Safety is something that has to be built into the way we work every day,” said Mary Conway, CVTC Business Development & Continuing Education Lead. “Safety Day gives employees an opportunity to step away from the day-to-day, learn what’s changing, and take practical ideas back to their workplaces.”
The event will open with an OSHA update with an emphasis on programs, proposed standards, policy changes and what employers can expect during an OSHA inspection. Throughout the day, participants can choose from sessions covering a wide range of workplace safety topics, including fall protection, risk assessment, electrical automation safety, DOT regulations, AI for safety training, stress management, mental health at work and so much more.
In addition to breakout sessions, Safety Day will offer opportunities to connect with vendors, participate in fire extinguisher training and engage in other activities between sessions.
Safety Day is part of CVTC’s Workforce Solutions & Continuing Education offerings, which provide training and customized solutions to help employers build the skills of their workforce.
Registration is $159 and includes a light breakfast and lunch. For more information or to register, visit CVTC Safety Day.
