The City of Eau Claire’s City Council approved new ordinances during Tuesday’s meeting.
The city council approved a proposed ordinance that modernizes their compositing rules, expanding safe opportunities for residential and community compositing, and divert organic waste from local landfills. It’s set to take effect on January 1st. Meanwhile, the council also approved a one-point-three-million dollar construction contract for the next round of Carson Park upgrades. The plans includes construction of a new bathroom and retail space behind the first base bleachers, with work expected to begin in a couple of weeks and finished before the start of next season.
