Ballot Answers Lead to Election Questions

David Crowley is a step closer to becoming Wisconsin’s first Black governor.

Crowley defeated State Rep. Francesca Hong in last night’s Democratic primary for the office, an upset victory after Hong had a large lead in recent polling.  If Crowley defeats Republican Tom Tiffany in November’s general election, he would be the Badger State’s first Black governor.  Crowley already made history when he became the first Black Milwaukee County Executive, as well as the youngest person to hold that office.

Meanwhile, Wisconsin Rapids lawmaker wants to know what caused a delay in voting results in Milwaukee.

Election officials say results were delayed because of some missing USB sticks, with five of the nine flash drives needing to be re-downloaded because of human error.  More specifically, it was described as the wrong button being pressed.  State Rep. Scott Krug called for further explanation of the matter, saying he plans to ask for a detailed report from election leaders in Milwaukee.
