Poultry shows and exhibitions are suspended in southern Wisconsin due to the bird flu.
This virus is highly contagious among poultry and can lead to sudden death, a decrease in egg production and difficulty breathing. The state’s Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection announced the suspension Friday. Exhibitions, swap meets and the movement of birds to other events are also postponed. The suspension may be extended if more cases are reported.
