Manhunt Ends in Arrest, Charges

One person is in custody following a “four-hour manhunt” in Pepin County.

Police say the search began when a property owner reported seeing a man walking through a private property with a rifle. Authorities later learned of two additional properties that were forcibly entered. Kyle Smith was taken into custody after rifle and clothing in one of the properties matched the same Smith had in security camera footage. He’s facing multiple charges, including burglary and trespassing.
