Gov. Evers Makes Stop in Our Area, Focuses On Food Insecurity and Funding

Wisconsin Governor Tom Evers visited La Crosse yesterday paying a visit to the city’s Hunger Task Force. 

The Hunger Task Force is a food bank serving over 120 meal sites, food pantries, youth programs, and outreach sites in La Crosse, Vernon, Trempealeau, Crawford and Monroe Counties as well as parts of Iowa.  Evers yesterday said that more funds are needed for such efforts — saying that the number of people that need food continues to rise and the ability to provide that food doesn’t rise with the same effort.
