Attorney General Josh Kaul is lobbying for legislation to eliminate the backlog of sexual assault kits.
Kaul joined a bipartisan group of advocates today to announce support of a bill to improve collection and processing of sexual assault kits. The legislation creates a statutory procedure for the collection of evidence. It is designed to enable police agencies to send the kits to the State Crime Lab within two weeks of the reported assault.
