Push Continues to Revive WisconsinEye

Open government advocates are putting pressure on lawmakers to reach a deal to revive WisconsinEye.

The state’s version of C-SPAN would broadcast every floor session of the state Senate and Assembly for free before it was shut down due to financial issues. Rules became enforced from Republicans that prohibited the public from live streaming or recording proceedings. Governor Tony Evers said he would support a fundraising deal to revive the network as long as “the state wasn’t paying for all” of its budget.
