EC WOMAN FACING PRISON TIME FOR INTERFERING WITH CUSTODY

An Eau Claire woman is accused of helping two kids escape from a treatment center for troubled youth.

A criminal complaint claims 20-year-old Ashlynn Alsteen loaded the kid’s belongings into her car one day last month.  They later ran away from Eau Claire Academy and took an Uber to Alsteen’s house where they were kept for one day before being taken back.  Alsteen is charged with two counts of interfering with custody and is facing up to 24 years in prison.
