Eau Claire City Council President Emily Berge will not seek another term, concluding nearly eight years of service.

Berge led the city through major challenges, including the pandemic, hospital closures, and addressing PFAS contamination, while championing transparency reforms, housing expansion, and significant public safety investments.
Berge will now focus on her run for Congress in Wisconsin’s 3rd District, highlighting her local government experience with housing, healthcare access, and affordability. She also recently served as President of the League of Wisconsin Municipalities, giving her statewide perspective on community needs.
