A Dane County native is running for a Wisconsin office.
Dylan Helmenstine announced Sunday he is running for state treasurer, calling it a role that has a “ton of responsibilities.” He said Wisconsin’s treasurer should be someone with experience to carry out its responsibilities while having the “energy to open up the possibilities.” Helmenstine grew up on a farm in Blue Mounds, is a member of the school board and is president of his local EMS district.
