Brad Schimel is taking over as US Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
The Journal Sentinel reports Schimel was appointed to the role by US Attorney Pam Bondi, noting the process of nominating a full-time attorney broke down. The district covers more than two dozen counties and has courthouses in Milwaukee and Green Bay. Schimel recently ran and lost a campaign for the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
