At approximately 3:00 a.m. on September 11, 2025, the Eau Claire Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire at 610 Randall Street after a passerby called 911.

Battalion 1 arrived on scene first and reported a single-story, wood-frame residence with smoke and flames visible from the front and side of the structure. Fire crews initiated an aggressive interior attack, established a water supply, and conducted primary searches of the home. No occupants were located during search operations.
The fire was brought under control following coordinated suppression, ventilation, and overhaul efforts. A section of the floor in the rear of the structure was found to be compromised, and crews operated with caution to ensure firefighter safety. Damages are estimated at about $400,000.
Xcel Energy responded to the scene to secure electrical service.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Eau Claire Fire Department’s Fire Inspector. Units Responded: Engine 2, Engine 9, Engine 10, Truck 5, Truck 8, Medic 5, Medic 9, Battalion 1, Chief 2. No injuries were reported.
