La Crosse leaders say they’re expecting a massive economic boost this week.
It comes as students return to the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse for the new school year. Officials say the economic surge comes from many sources, including apartment rentals, restaurant meals and supply shopping. They add that tuition alone funds jobs for faculty, staff and service workers.
