The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources wants hunters to remember these important tips ahead of deer hunting season. 

Officials say it’s important to place tree stands with caution as some trees may be structurally weaker.  They also recommend using a full-body harness as well as having three points of contact while climbing into and out of the tree stand.  To identify trees infested with emerald ash borer, hunters can look for opposite branching patterns on the trunk.
