A Packer Hall of Famer who served as the first president of the NFL Players Association has died at the age of 95.
The Packers announced that former Pro Bowl wide receiver Billy Howton died on Monday in his home state in Texas. Howton was the first rookie in NFL history to have more than a thousand receiving yards. He still holds Packers rookie records with 12-hundred-31 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns in 1952 while playing in just 12 games. In 1956, Howton was among the founders of the NFL Players Association. Howton was inducted into the Packers Hall of Fame in 1974.
