On Monday, August 4, 2025, a 39-year-old male was found unresponsive in his cell at the Eau Claire County Jail. The Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office has requested an outside Sheriff’s Office along with the Eau Claire County Medical Examiner to conduct an independent investigation into this death.
The Sheriff’s Office will not be releasing the name of the deceased at this time as this is an ongoing investigation.
