The Florence County Sheriff’s Office is planning to enforce the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources’ rules on ATV use by minors.
Authorities say no one between the ages of 12 and 15 can operate the vehicles without adult supervision and kids younger than 12 are not permitted to operate them at all. The sheriff’s office says deputies have looked the other way when kids over 12 were riding ATV’s to and from school but now those riders have begun causing other problems. In some cases, they are breaking traffic rules or destroying property, according to the sheriff.
