A fire on Eau Claire’s West Side causes $100,000 in damages.

Engine 9 and Engine 2 were dispatched for a vehicle fire on Friday evening. Dispatch information indicated an RV parked close to a single-family residence was fully involved. Engine 9 was first on location, confirmed fire conditions, and requested a 1st alarm assignment. Truck 5, Truck 8, Medic 9, Battalion 1 and Chief 2 responded. Engine 9 crew worked to extinguish the fire in the RV and prevent any further extension into the home while Engine 2 crews made entry into the home to check for fire and perform a search for occupants.
All searches were reported negative however fire was reported to extend into the attic. Crews worked diligently to extinguish the fire and perform salvage and overhaul procedures. ECFD Inspector 1 arrived on location to determine the cause and origin.
The fire remains under investigation. ECFD was assisted by Eau Claire Communications Center, Eau Claire Police Department, and Xcel Energy.
