On Wednesday evening about 8:30 the Chippewa County Sheriff’s office received a report of a three-vehicle accident with injury and road blockage on STH 27 at 115th Avenue in the township of Arthur.
A vehicle was northbound on STH 27 attempting to turn west bound onto 115th Avenue. The turning vehicle collided with a southbound vehicle in the intersection and became disabled in the intersection. The southbound vehicle continued southbound, however, the operator had lost control, and the vehicle crossed the centerline and collided with a northbound semi. Both the semi and the southbound vehicle became disabled in the roadway. The driver of the northbound vehicle was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the southbound vehicle was air lifted to Mayo Eau Claire with serious injuries. The driver of the semi was uninjured.
The crash is under investigation by the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office and the WI State Patrol.
