Family Resource Center Lands in Durand

The Family Resource Center, a program of Child Care Partnership (CCP) and Western Dairyland Economic Opportunity Council (WDEOC), announced the opening of a dedicated physical space at the Durand Business Center, 309 3rd Ave W, Durand, WI 54736. Below is the message about this new addition to the community:

This expansion provides families with a stable, welcoming place to access support, educational programs, and resources.

An Open House will be held on Monday, April 28th from 10 am-Noon and 4 pm-6 pm to come for open play hours, refreshments, and to learn more about the Family Resource Center.

Since launching a year ago, the Family Resource Center has provided mobile programming, partnering with libraries, schools, and businesses to bring parent education workshops and Play & Learn events directly to families in Buffalo and Pepin Counties. While CCP will continue these community-based services, the new space ensures that families have a consistent, accessible location where they can connect with staff, receive one-on-one support, and build relationships with other parents.

“Our goal is to empower parents and caregivers by building on their strengths, fostering confidence, and reducing stress,” said Linsey Kaufman, Family Resource Specialist. “Having a dedicated space allows us to expand our reach and provide a known, trusted environment for families seeking support.”

The Family Resource Center offers free and low-cost services designed to support caregivers and enhance child development, including:

  • Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) Seminars – An evidence-based program that helps parents build confidence in managing child behavior.
  • Parent Cafés – Small-group discussions where parents share experiences, strategies, and ideas in a supportive environment.
  • Play & Learn Groups – Interactive play sessions where caregivers engage with their children while connecting with other families.
  • One-on-One Parent Support

By providing a consistent location alongside continued community-based programming, the Family Resource Center ensures families have flexible options to access support. The new space fosters deeper connections between parents, caregivers, and the community while offering a reliable, welcoming hub for family engagement.
