Speeding Leads to OWI for MN Woman

Ranee Johnson, 39 years of age, from Minneapolis, MN has been arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol Eau Claire Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 1st offense, with five children in the vehicle under the age of 16. 

A Trooper with the Wisconsin State Patrol stopped a vehicle for speeding on I-94 westbound at milepost 115. While making contact with the vehicle, the Trooper could smell an odor on intoxicant and marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A subsequent investigation, including standardized field sobriety testing, showed that the driver, Ranee Johnson, was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance. She was subsequently arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence 1st offense while having five passengers under 16 years on in the vehicle. 

The minor passengers, ages 11, eight, seven, five and five months old remained with the other adult passengers in the vehicle. Ms. Johnson was transported to a local hospital for an evidentiary chemical test of her blood and then released to a responsible adult. She was also charged with possession of THC, Operating Without a Valid License and multiple Child Safety Seat Violations.
