Police are investigating the death of a woman and classifying it as a homicide. Officials in Hudson offered the following details:
On Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at 3:09 PM, Hudson Police Officers were dispatched to an address in the 1600 Block of Namekagon Street for the report of a welfare check. While officers were speaking with an adult male on the phone, the male made comments to lead the officer to believe someone was in danger within his residence. The male person refused to come out of the residence and then threatened to end his life by making officers shoot him. Negotiations with the man lasted several hours and he eventually exited the residence. The man was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the St. Croix County Jail. A security search of the residence revealed one adult female that was deceased.
During this incident a neighborhood notification was made to request residents living nearby to evacuate if they could or shelter in place. That notification has since been lifted. We believe this to have been an isolated incident and do not believe there is any further danger to the public at this time.
The Hudson Police Department was assisted by the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, Hudson Fire Department, and Lakeview EMS.
