Deadly Crash Under Investigation

The St. Croix County Emergency Communication Center received a call at about 6:48 a.m. on  Thursday, February 6, 2025, of a crash with injuries between two vehicles in the 1600 block of State  Highway (STH) 64, in Stanton Township. 

Deputies arrived on scene and observed that a 2007 Mazda, operated by Jeremiah D. Green, age 38,  from Clear Lake, WI, had been traveling west bound on STH 64. From witnesses, as well as evidence  at the scene, it appears Mr. Green lost control of his vehicle on the icy roads. He crossed the center  line, and was struck by an eastbound vehicle, driven by Travis A. Johnson, age 46, from Prairie Farm, WI. Mr. Johnson was operating a 2020 Ford Escape. 

Life saving measures were performed at the scene, however, as a result of his injuries, Mr. Green was  pronounced deceased by the St. Croix County Medical Examiner. 

Mr. Johnson was transported by the New Richmond Ambulance to Westfields Hospital in New  Richmond. 

Mr. Green was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Mr. Johnson was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. 

The St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the New Richmond Police Department, the New  Richmond Fire Department, New Richmond EMS, Deer Park Fire Department, and the St. Croix County  Medical Examiner. 

This incident represents the first traffic fatality recorded by St. Croix County in 2025. This crash remains under investigation.
