Republican state lawmakers in Wisconsin are introducing a measure that would require schools to limit the use of cell phones.
The bill would compel school boards to create specific policies for students when it comes to using all wireless devices that provide voice and messaging communication. Sponsors of the legislation cite concerns over distractions in the classroom and potential bullying. If passed as-is, the bill would give school leaders until July 1st of 2026 to implement cell phone rules.
