Almost 200 general election ballots were improperly processed in Madison.
The City Clerk’s Office says the ballots were found while cleaning up after the election, still in sealed bags. Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway says a review of the City’s election procedures is underway so the same thing won’t happen again. The Clerk’s Office says there weren’t enough ballots to change the outcome of any races or referendums, but letters will be sent to affected voters apologizing for the oversight.
