One of the two victims in Monday’s school shooting in Madison, Wisconsin is being identified.
Fourteen-year-old Rubi Vergara was killed when a female student opened fire at Abundant Life Christian School. An obituary posted by a Madison funeral home describes Vergara as an avid reader who loved art and music. Vergara’s funeral service will be held Saturday. A teacher was also killed and six others were injured before the shooter died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
A 20-year-old man from Carlsbad, California has been detained by authorities on suspicion of plotting a mass shooting in conjunction with Wisconsin school shooter Natalie “Samantha” Rupnow. Daniel Martindale reports.
