Police held a press conference today to address details in a deadly stabbing case. Below are the details of the case:
Fatal Stabbing UPDATE
The Eau Claire Police Department continues to investigate a fatal stabbing that occurred at the Do-Dodge-Inn in Eau Claire on Saturday, December 14, 2024.
A 911 call came in just after 6 p.m. for a report of a stabbing inside the bar. On scene, Eau Claire County Sheriff’s deputies and Eau Claire Police Department officers performed life-saving measures on the victim, now identified as 31-year-old Alex Graff, Medford, WI. Graff was in town visiting a friend.
According to video surveillance and witness statements from the Do-Dodge-Inn, the suspect, 44-year-old Anthony N. Jackson, homeless, Eau Claire, approached Graff and his friend and stabbed Graff multiple times. This attack appeared to be unprovoked. Jackson also attempted to stab Graff’s friend. Graff was transported to the hospital, where he died of his injuries. Jackson was quickly apprehended on scene.
Graff and Jackson were not previously acquainted.
Jackson is expected to make an initial court appearance at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2024.
The Eau Claire County District Attorney’s Office will charge Jackson with the following:
– 1st Degree Intentional Homicide with a Dangerous Weapon
– Attempted 1st Degree Intentional Homicide with a Dangerous Weapon
– Felony Bail Jumping (x2)
