Donald Johnson , 56 years of age, from Eau Claire has been arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol Eau Claire Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 5th offense.
On December 2,2024, at approximately 10:42 pm, a Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper initiated a traffic stop after observing a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign at the I-94 westbound exit 45 of ramp and the County Highway B intersection.
During the traffic stop the Trooper observed signs of impairment. A subsequent investigation, including standardized field sobriety testing, showed that Mr. Johnson was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant.
He was subsequently arrested and charged with operating while under the influence of an intoxicant 5th offense, operating after revocation, failure to install an ignition interlock device and bail jumping. A warrant was obtained and Mr. Johnson was transported to a local hospital for an evidentiary test of his blood and then to the Dunn County Jail.
